SOAC facility rental

The mission of the Sandpoint Organic Agriculture Center is to deliver education and outreach programming developed by University of Idaho College of Agricultural and Life Sciences and University of Idaho Extension to enhance sustainable and organic agriculture knowledge for the various communities in north Idaho.

Education and outreach activities focus on creating a sustainable local food system, advancing the community’s understanding of the wide array of heirloom apple varieties that are adapted to the local climate, and familiarizing the next generation of farmers, orchardists and home gardeners of the importance of a local food system.

When there are no CALS or UI Extension programs occurring, the Sandpoint Organic Agriculture Center is open to educational groups for workshops, seminars and courses.

Please fill out our facility inquiry form for space availability and cost.

Lodging space

The Bunk House can hold 35 guests in a dorm-type setting.

Refer to the facility use agreement (pdf) to learn more about rules and regulations regarding rental of this venue. This form is for reference only and will be filled out by the facility.

Event space

The main facility consists of a main floor with a dining room and two small breakout rooms. The second floor includes a presentation room.

First floor

  • Fireside dining hall — can seat up to 55 guests with 21 dining tables. Ideally set up as a food service space for lunch or dinner or meetings that do not require big screen projections.
  • Spigold classroom — has a capacity of approximately 20 people and is equipped with two sinks, counter space and a corkboard wall. With lots of natural lighting, this classroom would be ideal for hands-on experimentation or classes that might get a bit messy.
  • Macoun classroom — has a capacity of approximately 18 people and is equipped with multiple desks, counter space, shelving and a large corkboard. This classroom would work well for small classes and group meetings.

Second floor

  • Wickson conference hall — has capacity for 75 people with five foldout tables and 75 chairs. It is ideally set for big screen projections.
