Enhancing the future of the university and its students

The UI Foundation strategic plan aligns with and supports University of Idaho. It describes the mission, vision and values that drive the work of the UI Foundation. It also includes guidelines that ensure every action is taken with the utmost integrity, accountability, respect and responsibility toward our generous donors and the university.  

Our mission: To inspire, manage and distribute private support to enhance the excellence of University of Idaho.

Our vision: Ready, resourceful, resilient and trusted by all partners, the UI Foundation will enhance the future of the university and all past, present and future students.

Lead with inspiration

We achieve our mission by engaging and collaborating with U of I leadership and partners, stakeholders, community members and the UI Foundation board. Through transparency into our operations, we cultivate an informed constituency on UI Foundation operations and inspire donors to realize philanthropic goals.  

Objectives include:

• Partner with others through robust, deliberate engagement and collaboration.
• Develop joint strategic fundraising and stewardship efforts with the university.
• Provide U of I engagement opportunities and information about the university and UI Foundation for board members.
• Extend U of I’s influence.
• Inform and enhance information delivery to all stakeholders.
• Provide community awareness of the UI Foundation.
• Spark interest in giving to U of I and develop trust with new as well as loyal donors.

Responsible management

We enhance the excellence of University of Idaho by directing and managing UI Foundation operations and gift administration with excellence, integrity and respect. We exercise fiduciary responsibility and continually strive to sustain donor confidence.  

Objectives include:

• Grow and protect the endowment.
• Provide stewardship of assets.
• Streamline, automate and innovate the gift experience and operational process.
• Mitigate risks associated with gifts to protect U of I and the UI Foundation.
• Work collaboratively to ensure a positive, donor-centric experience.
• Explore ways to structure gifts which benefit both the donor and the university.
• Enhance and manage donor relations.
• Automate and streamline financial processes and procedures.
