Idaho EcosySTEM
Idaho EcosySTEM
The Idaho EcosySTEM engages partners to foster transformative STEM learning experiences and expand career pathways in every Idaho community. We invite you to join our online Community Platform, a centralized space to access STEM programs, events, competitions, grants, professional development, volunteer opportunities and to engage with partners across the state and beyond. Our Community Platform enables collective impact by making learning, coordination and alignment visible and accessible.
Regional hubs
The EcosySTEM is a statewide network using a regional hub structure to provide localized support with expert hub coordinators and regional leadership committees. Our regional hubs are based on Idaho's six educational regions.
- STEM INNC: STEM Idaho North and North Central — regions 1 & 2
- SWISH: SouthWest Idaho STEM Hub — region 3
- ISEE STEM: Idaho South East and East EcosySTEM — regions 4, 5 & 6
Regional hubs host and support STEM events throughout the year. Our initiatives include Idaho Exhibition of Ideas, Innovation Playground, We Can STEM and STEM Day at the Fair. Connect with your hub coordinator to learn more.
Statewide and regional convenings
The EcosySTEM hosts annual convenings for our cross-sector partners to come together and engage in collaborative conversations about STEM learning and workforce development. Statewide convenings rotate throughout the state in the fall, and regional convenings happen throughout the spring. To learn more about our convenings, please visit the Community Platform.
Student ambassadors
The Idaho EcosySTEM Student Ambassadors program empowers students in grades 6-12 to become STEM leaders in their school and community. Student ambassadors are encouraged to participate in three activities:
- Industry tours — Explore exciting career opportunities and discover the workforce ready skills employers want.
- Leadership interview — Develop your own questions, build critical thinking and public speaking skills and gain insight into effective leadership and workforce ready skills.
- STEM project — Design a meaningful project that challenges and shows peers, family and community what STEM engagement is all about.
Student ambassadors also receive invite-only access to EcosySTEM convenings and events, joining conversations about STEM learning and workforce development with industry leaders, educators and policy makers.
