State and National Events
National Events
Step outside your comfort zone and represent Idaho.
4-H teens can apply for one or more national 4-H conferences. Each has a rich history and purpose. Delegates selected as representatives of Idaho's 4-H make new friends from around the country and enrich the lives of others.
Travel to Atlanta, Georgia, Washington, D.C. or Madison, Wisconsin for these national conferences.
National events require a minimum delegation size and may be canceled by the UI Extension 4-H Youth Development office.
Know Your Government Conference
The Know Your Government Conference (KYG), is held annually over Presidents Day weekend in Boise while the Idaho legislature is in session. Designed for students in grades eight to nine, KYG is a project as well as an experience.
4-H Ambassador Summit
Older youth who have completed the required District Ambassador activities are invited to Idaho's 4-H Ambassador Summit each fall to become a 4-H state ambassador. This annual event is held in November in McCall. Ambassadors must be at least age 14 and have completed at least two years of 4-H projects and activities.
District Ambassador Retreats
The District 4-H Ambassador Retreats are geared for younger teens (completed sixth grade) and focus on life skills related to Head, Heart, Hands and Health — topics rotating annually.
Idaho 4-H State Teen Association Convention
Idaho 4-H State Teen Association Convention (formerly teen conference) is held each June on the University of Idaho Moscow campus. Join teens from around the state for four days of fun and educational activities. For teens who have completed grades eight and up.
