    Summer Camargo

    Summer Camargo

    Trumpeter, composer, and bandleader Summer Camargo is one of jazz’s brightest rising stars — named one of DownBeat’s “25 for the Future” and already making waves from the Saturday Night Live band to Broadway’s "Just in Time."

    A Juilliard alum and Conn Selmer/Bach artist, Summer has performed with Jazz at Lincoln Center, Jon Batiste, and the Mingus Big Band, and released her debut album To Whom I Love with Blue Engine Records in 2024.

    Tito Puente Jr.

    Tito Puente, Jr.

    The son of a Latin music legend, Tito Puente Jr. carries the torch of “El Rey del Timbales” with high-energy performances that blend Latin jazz, salsa, mambo, and merengue.

    Born in New York and now based in Miami, Tito has released Billboard-recognized albums like Guarachando and Sientelo, and continues to light up stages worldwide with his signature Latin jazz sound.

    Jazzmeia Horn

    Jazzmeia Horn

    Grammy-nominated vocalist Jazzmeia Horn is known for her powerful voice, fearless artistry, and deep connection to jazz tradition. Raised in Dallas and inspired by life’s ups and downs, Jazzmeia brings raw emotion and storytelling to every performance.

    With a rich vocal range and magnetic stage presence, she’s part of jazz’s new generation — pushing boundaries while honoring the past. Her music is a call to “sing your own song” and embrace your true self.

    Warren Wolf

    Warren Wolf

    Baltimore-born Warren Wolf is a multi-instrumentalist known for his dazzling technique on the vibraphone/marimba, drums, and piano. From NYC to Tokyo, Paris to Singapore, Warren has toured the world sharing his vibrant sound.

    A key member of the SFJAZZ Collective and Christian McBride’s Inside Straight, he’s also a respected educator at the Peabody of Music and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. With 10 recordings under his belt, mostly on Mack Avenue Records, Warren continues to push jazz’s boundaries — mallets in hand.

    Soul jazz pioneers Something Else! are a powerhouse septet led by alto sax legend Vincent Herring. This supergroup delivers groove-heavy, electrifying takes on classics from Horace Silver, Herbie Hancock, and more.

    Rooted deeply in the funky, feel-good vibes of ’50s and ’60s soul jazz, Something Else! brings raw energy, expert chops, and pure joy to every performance — a must-see for fans of hard bop and soulful jazz alike.

    Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival Friday night concert with Lionel Hampton Big Band featuring Joseph Doubleday

    Lionel Hampton Big Band

    Co-led by former Hampton band members, the Lionel Hampton Big Band brings Hampton’s hard-swinging jazz to life with energetic performances of his classic hits. Continuing his legacy, the band honors the jazz icon’s collaborations with greats like Louis Armstrong and Benny Goodman.

    Palouse Jazz Project

    Palouse Jazz Project

    The Palouse Jazz Project is a dynamic jazz septet, equally at home in performance and educational settings. Established in 2006, the group is comprised of faculty members from the Lionel Hampton School of Music at the University of Idaho. The Palouse Jazz Project performs jazz standards as well as original arrangements and compositions written especially for the ensemble. As educators, the Palouse Jazz Project welcomes working with students of all ages, developing skills in rhythm, melodic playing, historical context, ensemble playing and basic instrumental technique.

    Hamp’s Jazz Ambassadors

    The Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival is proud to present the Lionel Hampton Jazz Ambassadors, an all-star collegiate ensemble. This international group is made up of student musicians from various universities in the US and abroad. They perform as part of the Jazz in the Schools program and the workshop series during the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival. Prior to the festival week, this student ensemble meets virtually, but they come together to collaborate, showcase their talent, and share the joys of jazz!
