WALKTOBER - OCTOBER WALKING CHALLENGE

WHEN: October 2020

WHO: ALL MOSCOW STUDENTS

ANYWHERE, ANYTIME: Walk (or bike) to school, the park, library, sports practice, or anywhere you need go!

WHY: The purpose of WALKtober and the “One Less Car” initiative is to encourage students and their families to enjoy walking as a healthy mode of self-powered transportation. We encourage all students to walk anytime and anywhere during the month of October!

HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE: Put more steps into your day by replacing car trips with walking anytime, anywhere.

BECOME A WALKING SUPER STAR

Teachers who incorporate an in-class or distance learning activity to support WALKtober will earn “Walking Super Star” keychains for their class.

ONE LESS CAR

Fewer cars on the road increases safety for those walking (and biking) and decreases carbon monoxide emissions from cars.
