Military Appreciation Scholarship for Online Courses

University of Idaho provides scholarships to currently serving members of the United States Armed Forces, including National Guard and Reserve, for classes covered by the military services’ Tuition Assistance (TA) programs. The scholarship provides funds directly to the qualified student’s account once the university receives and processes the student’s federal TA and/or State Education Assistance Program (SEAP) paperwork at the start of each semester or term. Intent of this scholarship is to ensure that qualified military members do not pay additional funds for online undergraduate or graduate courses beyond the amount paid to the university for TA and, for Idaho National Guard members, SEAP. (Idaho National Guard members who are eligible for SEAP must apply for those benefits before classes start in order to receive this scholarship.) At no time will the scholarship provide funds greater than the difference between the cost of the online course and the current federal TA reimbursement amount to the university, nor can it be applied to courses not reimbursed by TA/SEAP.

The scholarship is open to both resident and non-resident students taking online courses for undergraduate or graduate credit. The scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with GI Bill® benefits. Eligibility may be suspended or removed if a student fails a class or fails to maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.
