Kay Maurin is a life-long Idahoan. After growing up in Moscow, she attended the University of Idaho. She began working for the University of Idaho in 1974 and retired in 2013. Kay’s family has a long record of military service going back to World War I. Her great uncle, Archie Hawley, was killed in action. He is honored as a namesake of the Hawley-Jameson VFW Post in Moscow, Idaho and is listed on the East City Park World War I memorial. Kay’s family includes retired Air Force members, Don Iverson and Ron Iverson. Her brother, Bruce Hawley, served in the Army. Kay’s son, daughter-in-law, and grandson currently serve in the Army. Kay enjoys supporting veterans and working with members of the Operation Education Advisory Board.
