The mission of the Sandpoint Organic Agriculture Center is to deliver education and outreach programming developed by the University of Idaho College of Agricultural and Life Sciences and University of Idaho Extension to enhance sustainable and organic agriculture knowledge for the various communities in north Idaho.
Education and outreach activities focus on creating a sustainable local food system, advancing the community’s understanding of the wide array of heirloom apple varieties that are adapted to the local climate, and familiarizing the next generation of farmers, orchardists and home gardeners of the importance of a local food system.
When there are no CALS or UI Extension programs occurring, the Sandpoint Organic Agriculture Center is open to educational groups for workshops, seminars and courses.
