Garrett Brogan, Ph.D., grew up in southeast Idaho in a town called Montpelier. I grew up with a passion for agriculture because of my upbringing. He was the Idaho FFA State Sentinel from 2014 to 2015. Then he attended Utah State and obtained a degree in agribusiness and pursued both a master's and doctorate in agricultural leadership education and communications at Texas A&M University. During his graduate degree, he worked on different research projects, which took him to Kenya, Rwanda and Ghana. He conducted research with women artisan groups and youth agricultural education programs and also worked for the U.S. Forest Service as a wildland firefighter in school, then worked for the USDA-Foreign Agricultural Service as an international programs assistant during my master's. He has a passion for agriculture and the land grant system.
