    Kick off your year with Week of Welcome

    Vandal Week of Welcome events are designed for new and returning students. Check out the schedule for activities, programs and trips around campus and the local community.

    Looking to get involved on campus? Recreation and Wellbeing, Vandal Entertainment and the Department of Student Involvement are hosting many of the activities during Vandal Week of Welcome and are great ways to engage with the Vandal community throughout the rest of the year.

    Participate in Joe Vandal's Scavenger Hunt

    The blueprints for a brand-new, 100-foot-tall Joe Vandal statue have been stolen — and it’s up to you to crack the case! Grab your team of detectives and explore 10 locations across University of Idaho’s Moscow campus to track down the missing plans. At each stop, you’ll solve a puzzle before moving on to the next clue.

    Start anywhere on campus! Teams that finish the hunt will be entered to win $50 Vandal Bookstore gift cards for each member, and two lucky individual players will score a Nintendo Switch 2.

    How to participate

    1. Download The Great Game app
      1. Download the app and register with your University of Idaho email
      2. Click "register for a game" and select University of Idaho
    2. Build your team
      1. Teams can consist of one to eight players
      2. Have one team member click "create team" and enter your team name
      3. Other teammates should click "join team" and log in
    3. Start the hunt
      1. Begin anywhere on campus
      2. Your team will have until 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 31 to complete the game
