About the Gallery
The Prichard Has a New Location
The University of Idaho acquired the former Moscow Police Department building on 4th street and is renovating the facility to house a new Prichard Art Gallery in the Vandal Welcome Center that includes a VandalStore.
As always, the Prichard advances the mission of the University of Idaho by facilitating innovative art and design research and programming, and providing transformative experiences that foster engagement across the university, in our local community, and throughout our region and state.
The Prichard Art Gallery on 4th Street in downtown Moscow is where art and community will come together.
Donor support will provide:
- Year-round learning lab for students
- Gathering space with exhibits from world-renowned artists
- Displays of research conducted by our faculty and students
- University special collections
- After-school programs
- Art walks and hands-on workshops.
Endowing the gallery will provide vital programming and access in perpetuity.
Established in 1981, the Prichard Art Gallery has served the university, community and region with thought provoking exhibits, high-quality programming, and transformative educational experiences. For forty years, the teaching, outreach, and creative scholarship missions of the University of Idaho’s College of Art and Architecture have been conducted through the Prichard Art Gallery. During the past thirty years the downtown location has provided an anchor for the city’s and region’s large population of artists and art enthusiasts. After closing the downtown location in 2021, the University of Idaho acquired with former Moscow Police Department building on 4th street, and began plans to renovate the facility to house a new Prichard Art Gallery, Vandal Welcome Center, and VandalStore.
