Facilities

Facilities

Each student will have access to a variety of copiers/printers. Check with your department for locations.

The Idaho State Law Library is located on the second floor of the Idaho Law and Justice Learning Center (514 W. Jefferson St.) with business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. College of Law students and faculty can access the library 24/7 through key card entry.

Traveling from Idaho Water Center to the Idaho Law and Justice learning center is approximately a 17 minute walk or a 12 minute trip when using the connecting bus route. View Google maps for route information.

You can learn more by visiting the Idaho State Law Library website.

Visit the “Library Access” tab to learn about access to use all electronic resources from the Moscow campus’s library and the access to personalized reference assistance from a librarian.

Kitchens for common use are found on floors two through four of the IWC building. They are equipped with refrigerators, microwave ovens and dishwashers. Please be sure to practice good housekeeping when using the kitchens. The ILJLC and the IDL buildings have student lounges on the first floor.

As a U of I student, you have access to valuable electronic and print resources from the university’s library and the access to personalized reference assistance from one of the librarians. If you have questions about accessing information resources from off-campus in both print and electronic formats, are interested in information resources pertinent to your discipline, or have general research questions, feel free to contact the distance education librarian at 208-885-2503.

University of Idaho Boise students are able to use all electronic resources from the Moscow campus’s library by visiting the library’s website and logging in with their Vandal email address and password. For more information about using the library from off-campus, view the U of I library distance education guide.  Students can also request that print books (both U of I an Summit materials) be mailed to the Idaho State Law Library (ISLL) located at the U of I College of Law in Boise (514 W Jefferson St.) for pickup or drop off at no cost. Materials ordered using ILLiad interlibrary loan service (ILL) cannot be delivered to the Law library but can be dropped off for return to Moscow. The ISLL hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. M-F (no after-hours or drop off box).

Other options

There are numerous public libraries located throughout Boise and the surrounding cities.  For locations, hours and additional information visit the Boise public library website.

The Albertsons Library at Boise State University is open to the public.  Their most current hours and holiday closures can be found online.

Lounge areas for common use are found at the Idaho Water Center on floors 1–5. Additionally, Joe’s Corner is a space set aside for faculty, staff and student use at the end of the south hallway on the third floor. A Keurig machine is available, but you must provide your own coffee pods.

A lactation room is available at the Idaho Water Center building for faculty, staff and students. Please contact UI Boise Operations at 208-364-6157 or uiboise@uidaho.edu to learn about location and access to the room.

Each department will discuss your work space with you and provide keys and/or access to your assigned space.

Full-time students have access to BSU Campus Recreation facilities at 1515 University Drive. BSU sells passes to U of I students at the Service Desk in the Student Recreation Center for the duration of terms that coincide with those for BSU students. The student cost for campus recreation passes is set each year in the summer to be in effect for the new academic year beginning with the fall semester. (In addition to the out-of-pocket charge paid by the student, the University of Idaho makes a payment to BSU equivalent to the recreation fee paid by every full-time University of Idaho student.)

Current rates have not yet been set, but have historically been approximately $60 per semester.

U of I students are required to present their current student ID card at the time of purchase. Students are required to provide their current address, phone number and email address to BSU Campus Recreation and sign a waiver of liability, assumption of risk and indemnity agreement. Learn more about the facilities and recreational opportunities at BSU.
