    Campus 360 online education FAQs

What is the “classroom experience” like through U of I Campus 360?

As an online student, you learn, read and watch videos through Canvas, our online learning management system. Here, you have opportunities to connect with instructors and classmates through discussion boards, group activities, live chats and webinars.

Are there ever any “live” teaching sessions on Zoom or video?

We offer most U of I Campus 360 online courses asynchronously, which means there are no set log-in times. However, there may be some synchronous components for some activities and assignments. This helps to ensure you’re learning alongside your peers throughout the class while giving you flexibility.

As some programs may have different delivery methods, it’s important you speak with your advisor about specific program offerings and requirements.

Can I attend U of I Campus 360 online from another state?

Yes! You can participate in University of Idaho courses from anywhere in the world.

Will there be due dates for assignments in my class?

Most courses have assignments you complete when it’s convenient for you but with set due dates. Some assignments and tests may only be available for a limited time (such as a 48-hour period), so they must be completed within that time frame. Your course syllabus provides these important details.

I’ve completed my admissions process, now what?

Admitted undergraduate students can follow the admitted student to-do list to explore next steps in getting set up as a Vandal for their first semester.

Admitted graduate students can find information about next steps through the College of Graduate Studies.

How do I enroll in your online classes?

Once admitted, you can access class registration through MyUI. Detailed instructions are available through the Office of the Registrar.

When can I start my online program?

Most programs have three entry points at the start of the fall (August), spring (January) and summer terms (May – August). All students seeking undergraduate and graduate degree programs or certificates must begin with the admissions process by speaking with an admissions counselor.

Does U of I Campus 360 offer support for students with disabilities?

University of Idaho is committed to providing equal and integrated access for individuals with disabilities. For more information about registering for accommodations, contact the Center for Disability Access and Resources.

Can I apply scholarships to my online tuition?

U of I awards more than $50 million in scholarships, grants and fee waivers every year. To see if you qualify for aid, we encourage you to fill out your FAFSA.

Learn more about endless scholarship possibilities.

Are all U of I online credits transferable to other universities?

Online credits are the same as credits earned at any University of Idaho campus. However, when transferring credits, it is up to the enrolling institution to determine transfer eligibility and how transfer credits may apply to a specific program of interest.

For more information or support on understanding transfer credits, visit I Transfer.

What technology do I need to participate in my courses?

At the start of each semester, your courses are available to you in Canvas. To access them, you need a laptop or desktop computer with the latest web browser versions and reliable internet access (preferably DSL or faster). Canvas runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android or any other device with a modern web browser. The Canvas application also supports the latest two versions of every browser release.

I firmly believe that online learning can be as interactive, hands-on and experiential as an in-person class. Our professors understand how experiential learning is the type of learning that really sticks, so they design assignments that require student engagement, reflection, conceptualization and experimentation with each major new concept or skill.
