Important Dates and Events
- September and October | Envision Idaho
Encourage your students to tour campus and explore their options as a student at U of I by personally experiencing our learning environments during these special open-house style events.
- Oct. 1 | FAFSA Opens
Students may begin filling out the FAFSA for the following academic year. Remind them that there are many scholarships and types of aid available through U of I. To qualify, they simply need to submit their FAFSA and application for admission. U of I doesn't have a separate scholarship application process.
- Oct. 22 – Nov. 26 | College Application Week
College Application Week is a nationwide program to help every high school student apply for a post-secondary degree.
- October-November | Meet the Vandals
Your students get the opportunity to with Vandal alumni, current students and faculty in their own town, and learn about the options they have for furthering their education.
- November | Avanza
Multicultural students get to meet Vandal alumni, current students and faculty in their own town. Learn about the days and locations this event is happening.
- Dec. 1 | Financial Aid Early Consideration Deadline
Applicants who are admitted and submit their FAFSA by this date are assured full consideration for all scholarships and financial aid available and will receive their financial aid package before January 1. After December 1, the University will continue to admit students, award scholarships to qualified students and process FAFSA applications on a rolling basis as they are received. Use the U of I application or The Common App.
- Feb. 15 | Direct Admission Deadline
Remind students who qualified for direct admission and received a letter from the State Board of Education that this is the last date to submit their application form and claim their seat. After Feb. 15, they may still apply via our rolling admission processes.
- June, July | UIdaho Bound
This is our signature event for admitted students. They can register early for classes, sign up for housing, review their financial aid award package with staff, get their VandalCard, find friends and make connections while learning more about campus living.
