Summer Activities

On-Campus Activities

Recreational and cultural activities are abundant on the University of Idaho campus. Activities range from campus activities and events to exciting outdoor possibilities in any of the easily accessible wilderness areas.

The jewel of the University of Idaho’s lush, landscaped campus is the 63-acre Arboretum & Botanical Garden which fills the valley south of the President’s Residence on Nez Perce Drive against a backdrop of the tilled, rolling Palouse hills.

Campus Recreation offers a variety of summer activities. Some of these activities include an assortment of fitness and wellness classes to help you get fit while having fun. Work and life workshops are offered to help you balance and enhance your work and personal life.

Kayaking, rafting, backpacking, rock climbing and mountaineering are some of the outdoor adventure opportunities offered by the University of Idaho Outdoor Program. The program has a full schedule of exciting activities for the University community during the summer. Many of these activities are cooperative in nature. Group cost is shared, and participants are responsible for providing personal equipment (rental equipment is available) along with helping plan the outing. A wide variety of rental equipment, including rafts, kayaks, canoes, climbing and camping gear, is available at The Outdoor Program, conveniently located in the Student Recreation Center.

Golf, swimming, weight training, tennis, racquetball, rock climbing, basketball, volleyball, softball and more can be enjoyed at the University. Sport Facilities:
