Curriculum
The B.S.Tech. in engineering technology is a 124-credit program combining coursework and applied learning experiences. Students build technical expertise while gaining hands-on experience in the field. This degree program requires a solid background in math and science and an interest in working with technology.

Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in engineering technology develop the technical, management and communication skills needed to succeed in manufacturing, research, government and industry. You will understand how to apply engineering and technology principles, improve processes, manage projects, lead teams and solve complex technical challenges. The Bachelor of Science in engineering technology combines foundational coursework in mathematics, science and communication with hands-on technical training in engineering systems, manufacturing, electronics and industrial safety. As you progress, you’ll develop expertise in leadership, quality assurance, project management and robotics through advanced coursework and applied learning.

All U of I College of Engineering students participate in hands-on activities through:
- Nationally ranked Senior Capstone Design Program - Emphasizing the engineering design process and the development of a fully engineered, tested and validated outcome or prototype. Interdisciplinary student teams present their industry-sponsored projects at the annual Engineering Design EXPO.
- Cooperative Education Program (Co-op) – Get paid up to $20,000 alternating semesters of academic study with paid full-time employment in your field.
