Voluntary insurance plans
Dental and vision benefits for UIdaho students
U of I offers voluntary dental and vision insurance plans that give you access to the care that you need — so you can focus on your academic success.
Dental plan options
Taking care of your health goes beyond regular medical checkups — dental health is just as important to your overall wellbeing. A confident smile can strengthen your relationships and support your performance at school and at work. A UnitedHealthcare-branded dental plan, underwritten by Golden Rule Insurance Company, a UnitedHealthcare company, can provide additional coverage to help protect your overall health and budget.

Vision plan options
Being able to see clearly is important. We rely on our eyes to be able to take in the world around us. By investing in your eye health through vision insurance, you’re supporting your overall health, not just vision correction.

How to enroll in a U of I dental or vision plan
Enroll in voluntary dental and vision benefits available in the area where you primarily live and pay taxes. Enrollment is available year-round and may be canceled at any time regardless of your enrollment in the medical insurance plan sponsored by U of I.
If you enroll in the voluntary program, please note that the charge will not appear on your student account but will be paid directly to the insurance company.
