Sky Rash, Geography major is a major college sports fan. Favorite team? The Idaho Vandals. He met Maddy Gaul through a U of I Facebook post sharing that he was planning to run from the @p1fcu Kibbie Dome to Gesa Field prior to the 2025 Battle of the Palouse.

Maddy an animal production major, loves being a part of traditions. A runner herself, she took Sky up on his offer to join the run and be a part of a modern twist on an old tradition.

In a modern adaptation of the Walkathon (also known as Losers Walk) the lost tradition where students from the losing team would walk to the winners campus Sky says the run with the flag represents to the team that we’re all here to back them up.

“I have a passion for running, I know WSU isn’t going to play in the Dome so I thought I’d just run there instead,” said Sky. “I’ve fallen in love with this school and the state.”

The sophomore said he’s been thinking about this for a while and finally got his chance as the Cougs and Vandals don’t play every year.

“I truly found a place for myself at U of I,” he shared. “I have a sense of pride for this place and I hope this run will inspire others in the community too.”

Alexis Biasotti does research in the Milk for Infant, Mind and Immunity (MIMI) Laboratory at the University of Idaho campus in Moscow, ID on March 26, 2025. She is an undergraduate pre-vet student, majoring in Animal and Veterinary Science, and has been in the Chen Lab since her freshman year because she was immediately drawn to the Piglet Intervention Center (PInC). Alexis has contributed significantly ranging from animal husbandry, lab maintenance, to growing cell culture for experiments. She completed one project comparing systemic inflammatory response between piglets fed human milk vs. infant formula. Alexis is now working on optimizing growing conditions for human enteroids.
