Vandals Start Here — U of I Is Open for Dual Credit Enrollment

April 27, 2022

Enrollment is open for discounted dual credit courses at University of Idaho. Courses cost $75 per credit hour for Idaho residents. Classes can be taken in person on campus, online, or through hybrid instruction.

Idaho students in grades 9-12 are eligible to participate in U of I’s dual credit program. Idaho public and charter students can apply their $4,125 of allocated Advanced Opportunities state funds dedicated for dual credit and exams to courses in U of I’s program. Students who exhaust these funds may also enroll in U of I’s dual credit courses at the same discounted rate.

Home school or private school students may use the $750 they are allotted by the state Student Opportunities Assistance Program.

Credits can be applied to U of I graduation or transferred to other colleges and universities. Registration largely ends Sept. 2, but deadlines vary by class.

Students must have a 2.5 minimum GPA to enroll. High schoolers may register for a maximum of seven credits per semester. After completing 32 credit-hours on U of I’s campus or online, students may continue dual credit enrollment at their high school campus. Enrollment in dual credit courses on high school campuses opens when school resumes in the fall.

The U of I Dual Credit Program has been running for 25 years and serves 1,800 students across 42 of Idaho’s 44 counties.
