Starting this week, two new alert flags — “Registration ALERT-Student Accounts Hold” and “Registration ALERT-Advisor Hold” — will go live and be added to students’ VandalStar accounts. If a student has a current university bill over $500 and/or needs to meet with their academic or faculty advisor, the student will receive an email notification with suggested action steps to address their hold(s). An orange alert flag will also be added to their VandalStar account. Read more

Library Journal Package Reduced

In October 2019, the University of Idaho Library announced that they were renegotiating a contract with journal publisher Elsevier, resulting in a new contract under which they would lose access to some of their Elsevier content. The previous level of access had become unaffordable due to both university-wide budget reductions and the rapidly rising cost of the package. Negotiations for the 2020 Elsevier contract continued until late December and the new contract takes effect this month. Read more
