Know Your Government Project Manual

The Know Your Government program is a two-year project in which 4-H youth within grades 8-10 learn how Idaho state and tribal government functions, spotlighting the legislative, executive, and judicial systems. The program culminates with an in-person conference held over President’s Day weekend in Boise, Idaho, where youth attending the conference meet and share what they have learned with legislators, judges, and other elected officials. This manual supports all the preparatory lessons and in-person activities in which youth will engage over this two-year curriculum. It warehouses crucial information about the three branches and tribal leadership, the role of the news media, study questions, supporting activities, and more, plus a log so students can track their progress.
