Community development in Valley County
Community development
UI Extension is dedicated to community development in Valley County. We lead and assist residents of the West Central Mountains (Cascade, Donnelly, McCall and New Meadows) in planning processes including the development and implementation of community visioning, strategic planning, the development of coalitions and coaching for community project action teams.
We have helped many projects that are independently led today, including the Horizons' Leadership and Planning Teams in Cascade (2009), Valley County Economic Development Council (2012) and the Valley/Adams Planning Partnership (2004). UI Extension mentors citizen leaders and cultivates the power of local leadership and collaboration.

We currently serve on multiple community partnership projects throughout the West Central Mountains (WCM) including:
- Cascade Placemaking Committee, Cascade Arts Walk project
- West Central Mountains Food Coalition and Story map
- WCM Creative Arts District
- WCM Trails Coalition, Workforce Development Committee, and the Early Childhood Education and Learning Committee with the WCM Economic Development Council Cascade Mobility Team
Remote learning initiative
UI Extension, Valley County now promotes learning initiatives by connecting people to online learning resources. Residents can gain a Remote Work Professional Certificate and gain valuable digital skills through idahodigitalskills.org and Northstar Digital Literacy.
