March 19 Update: The University of Idaho’s Spring 2020 Commencement ceremonies for Boise, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho Falls and Moscow have been canceled because of concerns about the spread of COVID-19.
Celebrating our graduates is one of our most important traditions and celebrations. Students who have applied to graduate through the Registrar’s Office this spring will still receive their diploma in a timely way. All spring graduates are also invited to return and celebrate their accomplishment in either December 2020 or May 2021 — once we know it is safe to do so.
We understand this is disappointing, but the safety and health of the Vandal Family is our top priority. Plans to recognize the Class of 2020 this spring in another way are still taking shape.
Information about regalia orders is available at the GradFair website.
Bag Checks: The University of Idaho is committed to continual improvement of our events and the safety and comfort of our guests. In the interest of enhanced safety, we will be conducting bag checks at all the entrances for the Moscow spring commencement ceremony. NO BAGS will be permitted for graduating students.
Firearms and Weapons: Individuals, including concealed carry permit holders, may not bring a firearm into the ASUI-Kibbie Activity Center, Memorial Gym, or the Bruce M. Pitman Center. The University has posted signs that specify this restriction as set out in Idaho Code Section 18-3309 (2). [ed. 1-15]. Additionally, university policy prohibits weapons of any sort (to include knives) being brought into the Kibbie Dome.
Tobacco and Alcohol: The University of Idaho is a tobacco-free campus; the use of cigarettes, e-cigarettes and smokeless tobacco is not permitted on university property. Alcoholic beverages can only be consumed in approved locations on university property as per Idaho State Board of Education policy.
