The Women's Center can be found on the ground floor of the Memorial Gym in the southwest corner of the Moscow campus. We occupy the suite of offices in Room 109.
We are child friendly. Supervised children and babies are welcome in our space. We can provide a private space for changing and breastfeeding, and we have a big basket of toys and coloring books for visiting children in our library.
The Women's Center is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. We do not close for lunch. Appointments after 5 p.m. are by arrangement with individual staff members. Lounge and library spaces are available for use after hours by student organizations and other campus community groups. To reserve the lounge and/or library, call the Women's Center at (208) 885-2777 or email email@example.com. The lounge key is available for checkout only by special arrangement with center staff.
Equipped with a comfortable sofa set and available for use throughout the day (unless reserved for a meeting or class), the lounge is a great place to study, relax and visit. The comfortable, cozy atmosphere with couches and easy chairs makes it the perfect location to read, meet or hang out.
Stop in to eat your lunch here! You can use our refrigerators and microwave for storing and heating meals and snacks. We also provide free coffee, tea, hot chocolate and hot water.
Our library is one of five designated lactation stations on campus. It is a private space and may be reserved for breastfeeding or pumping. We also have a baby-changing station available for the use of parents with very young children.
Part of the U of I Library's circulation system, our more than 3,000 collection of books and DVDs on a variety of topics relevant to women and gender studies may be checked out by anyone with a valid VandalCard or U of I guest library card.
Topics include feminism, sexual assault and violence prevention, women's health, novels, family issues, art, LGBTQA issues and women's history. We are obtaining new books on a regular basis. If you have a title you'd like to suggest we acquire, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Women's Center also subscribes to a variety of alternative magazines. Copies are available to read in the Women's Center lounge.
