Honors Program
Are you a driven, curious student who loves a challenge? The Honors Program offers small, engaging classes, close faculty mentorship and a tight-knit learning community. It’s a chance to deepen your academic experience while connecting with fellow high achievers.
Student Support Services — TRIO (SSS-TRIO)
Students in SSS-TRIO can find support with tutoring, scholarships, mentoring, career planning and more — all in a community that truly cares. SSS-TRIO supports first-generation college students, students from a limited-income background and students with a documented disability.
Tribal Relations Student Affairs
Rooted in respect and tradition, Tribal Nations Student Affairs supports Native American students connected to tribal nations — especially the 11 tribes with whom U of I has Memorandums of Understanding. You’ll find academic support, cultural connection, leadership opportunities and a community that honors your identity.
Vandals First Office (VFO)
The Vandals First Office is dedicated to helping first-generation students succeed. Through mentorship, resource navigation and community-building events, the VFO ensures you have the support you need to succeed from day one through graduation.
Vandal Gateway Program (VGP)
If you enter college with a lower GPA, Vandal Gateway offers a guided start to college through a supportive, one-year cohort experience. With tailored academic support, leadership development and mentorship, you’ll gain the confidence and skills needed to succeed throughout your time at U of I.
