Job Duties
Ensuring the safety of patrons and proper use of equipment in the Student Recreation Center (SRC). Checking IDs, giving facility tours, issuing equipment, selling memberships and other products and services. Equipment and facility cleaning, including laundry duties. Job Requirements
- Willingness to work occasional mornings, evenings, weekends &/ or holidays.
- Must work a minimum of 2 shifts (8+) hours per week.
- Must be a student at the University of Idaho for the semester you wish to begin and throughout employment.
- Must abide by the University of Idaho Student Code of Conduct.
- Due to the nature of this position, must be 18 years of age to apply.

- American Heart Association (AHA) certification in First Aid, CPR, AED required within three weeks of hire.

- Must have a current nationally accredited certification in personal training (ex: ACE, ACSM, NSCA, NASM, etc.).
- Must maintain active certification throughout employment.

Job Description:
Basic Function and Responsibility:
Officiate/Referee intramural sports competitions that are assigned. Sports may include:
- Flag Football
- Basketball
- Soccer
- Wrestling
- Dodgeball
- Spike Ball
- Ultimate Frisbee
- Volleyball
- Floor Hockey
- Pickleball
- Badminton
- Tennis
- Wiffleball
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work on average 2 to 4 hours/week.
- Attend all required meetings and clinics, which are conducted in each sport.
- Maintain minimum performance ratings according to completed evaluations.
- Prepare properly for all scheduled games.
- Be at scheduled officiating site in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct yourself professionally at all times.
- Assist the Recreation & Wellbeing office in other areas as assigned.
Supervision Received
- Direct supervision will be received from the Director of Intramural Sports, Intramural Grad Assistant, and Intramural Supervisors.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a student enrolled at the University Of Idaho and be at least 18 years old.
- Background or interest in recreational events with prior officiating experience is preferred.
- Must demonstrate a willingness to learn.
Starting Wage
The starting wage for this position is $9.50 an hour.

Job Duties
Vandal Kids Camp Counselors will be responsible for the daily operation of the Kids Camp for Recreation and Wellbeing. Counselors will be responsible for an assigned group of children ages ranging between 6-12. Counselors will help plan, organize, implement and lead age-appropriate activities. Activities generally include arts and crafts, sports, nature, games and elements of education. Duties include working shifts that are scheduled, checking in and out camp participants, supervising children, overseeing transitions to and from scheduled events and lessons, participating in group exercises and helping facilitate activities throughout the day. Camp counselors will also be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of campers. The ideal candidate would be an excellent multitasker with a genuine passion for working with young individuals. Applicants should be patient, self-motivated and confident in their abilities to assist and lead campers through each week. Dates of employment- Monday – Friday from approximately 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the dates of May 15-19, 2023 for training week and then June 12- July 28, 2023.
Job Responsibilities:
- Checking in and out camp participants.
- Communicating rules to camp participants.
- Ensuring participants safety during camp events and activities.
- Maintaining we have all the necessary paperwork for each participant.
- Enforcing Vandal Kids Camp policies and procedures.
- Utilize appropriate behavior management through performing other duties as assigned.
- Provide first aid when needed.
- Attend all mandatory trainings and meeting
- Maintain a friendly approachable manner.
- Respond to program inquiries, answering questions, phone calls and emails.
- Arriving on time and prepared for all shifts.
- Interact with parents in a professional and polite manner.
- Execute planning and logistics for assigned trips.
- Transport participants safely to and from events, activities and trips.
- Adhere to guidelines in policies and procedures outlined by the Vandal Kids Camp Manual.
- Assist with offsite activities.
- Help execute activities taught by subject experts.
- Facilitate and encourage participation in camp activities.
Job Requirements
Position Qualifications:
- Willingness to work mornings, days and early evenings.
- Must work up to 40 hours each week scheduled.
- Abide by the University of Idaho student Code of Conduct.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Due to the nature of this position you must be 21 years of age to apply.
- Must have excellent driving record.
- Ability to clearly communicate in writing and verbally.
- Experience in providing excellent customer service.
- Must have the ability to multi-task.
- Excellent conflict resolution skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous background as a camp counselor.
- CPR/First Aid/AED certified.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of the team and cooperate with others.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Demonstrated reliability/dependability through work history, school or references.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Physical ability to bend, stoop, lift and/or otherwise move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Physical ability to move around and within equipment and facilities including squatting, kneeling, climbing and swimming.

Hourly Rate
The salary will be determined on the basis of the SRC IH hourly pay schedule and based on experience and level of responsibility.
