Climbing Center
Located in the Student Recreation Center, the Climbing Center features a 55-foot pillar, 24-foot instructional wall, cave and bouldering wall totaling 6,000 square feet of climbing area.

Participants must have completed the Basics Clinic or pass a belay check. A complete Climbing Center Release of Liability Form is also required (available at the Climbing Center Information Desk).

Membership Pricing*
A "day pass" or single visit to the U of I Climbing Center is $10.
Full-time U of I students can access the Climbing Center at no additional cost.
Board appointed U of I faculty, staff and their spouses can purchase a Climbing Center membership for $17.50 per pay period, per person. Faculty/staff memberships include access to the Student Recreation Center and Climbing Center.
Non-Board Appointed U of I faculty, staff, and their spouses can purchase climbing only memberships (see General Public Memberships above) or SRC/Climbing combination passes (see Non-Board Appointed SRC Memberships).
All those interested in purchasing a SRC or Climbing Center Membership must have a valid VandalCard.
All board appointed faculty/staff can request a VandalCard through VandalCard Services. Spouses of U of I employees can purchase VandalCards at the SRC Information Desk for $10. Memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable.
Anyone that is not a current fulltime U of I student, faculty or staff can purchase a Climbing Center membership for either a one-month, four-month or one-year increment.

*Climbing Center memberships do not include Fitness Classes or SRC access.
