The vast majority of our graduates find success quickly — within three months of graduation, 95% of our Master of Accountancy alumni and 75% of accounting degree graduates secure employment within three months of graduation. Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
Gain practical experience preparing tax returns for low-income individuals through this national program. You'll earn IRS certification and work alongside U of I Law students at the U of I Law School Tax Clinic and a Native American center in northern Idaho.
Accounting Professional Development
Prepare for a successful career by mastering job market skills. You’ll learn how to craft a professional resume and cover letter, sharpen your interview techniques, and strengthen your communication skills through case studies, debates and discussions. Plus, you’ll network with accounting professionals in both casual and formal settings.
Practicum in Tutoring
As a Master of Accountancy (M.Acct.) student, collaborate with other graduate students in assisting undergraduates in principals of financial, managerial and intermediate accounting courses. Previous students have enhanced their teaching, learning and oral communication skills.
Barker Review Group
Join the account review team for the Barker Trading Competition. As an M.Acct. student, you’ll review accounts for compliance, monitor performance and analyze trading data, gaining real-world financial expertise.
CPA Exam Review
Prepare for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Exam with structured weekly study goals. You’ll receive a discounted CPA Exam review course and register for at least one exam section, keeping you on track for success.
U of I Internal Controls Review
Collaborate with the U of I Controller’s Office to evaluate the university’s financial processes. You’ll assess and document internal controls, recommend improvements and even help train U of I employees on best practices.

Our Accounting Program is separately accredited by AACSB, and the College of Business and Economics is part of the prestigious 194 schools worldwide that hold dual accreditation for both our college and accounting program.
