International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) welcomes students, scholars, staff, faculty and their families from around the world. Currently over 70 nations are represented on campus. At University of Idaho, you will develop academic English, study, research, gain career expertise and experience all that U of I has to offer. We look forward to meeting you soon.!
International Student and Scholar Services can assist you with:
- Immigration and visa guidance for people coming to U of I and going overseas
- Personalized advising for incoming and outgoing students and scholars
- Arrival, departure and transition assistance
- Employment authorization
- Local activities and cultural programming
- Community resources and international organizations
ISSS team
The ISSS team is located in the Living Learning Community, Building #3. You can enter from the walkway side (right next to the Student Housing Help Desk).
International Services Office Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific time Monday through Friday at the International Programs Office (IPO).

If you are an international student, Homebase is your one-stop information hub. We designed it just for you. After you are admitted, all the next steps – from getting your visa to arriving on campus are all in Homebase. You can find information in the University of Idaho F1 Immigration section.
Here’s how Homebase can help you get started:
- I-20 Orientation course: Learn what financial documents you need to receive your I-20. To request an I-20, complete the application for admission, submit required financial documentation, and an I-20 will be issued to you promptly.
- DS-160 Handbook: Get step-by-step guidance for filling out the DS-160 form and scheduling your F-1 visa appointment.
