Immigration Advising

The main purpose of our office is to provide immigration advising to U.S. visa holders who are at the University of Idaho mainly F-1, J-1, H-1B, and TN status and dependents. We also assist with other visa statuses, as needed, such as B-1, B-2, etc.

The advice and services we offer are all related to helping U.S. visa holders maintain legal visa status and in adjusting to life in the U.S. The information provided on this site will provide overviews, details and forms necessary for making any changes to F-1 and J-1 visa statuses.

Contact an International Student Advisor if you have any questions.

Have a quick question? You can meet with an International Services Advisor for 15 minutes or less during Walk-In Advising without an appointment.

Walk-In Advising Hours:

Monday thru Friday (except on Wednesdays) from 1:30-4 p.m.

Private appointments for University of Idaho F-1 students, J-1 students and scholars and international employees are available upon request. Our International Services team can help you with issues related to F or J immigration status, cultural adjustment, and personal concerns. Please call 208-885-8984 or visit the International Programs Office to schedule your 15-30 minute appointment.

In order to save time, please refer to iVandal to learn more about your appointment topic before meeting with an advisor in person. Please use iVandal to submit request forms such as program extensions, part-time enrollment authorization, travel signature, add dependent, transfer out, and Curricular Practical Training.
