Learn how to develop business and personal financial strategies that are both ethical and effective while gaining experience through hands-on programs simulating real business situations. Manage portfolios, invest real money and practice the latest trading technologies. Then learn even more by adding the PGA option to your finance degree and choose a career in finance inside the $100+ billion golf industry, with a 100% job placement rate after graduation.
You'll gain extensive practical experience as you complete 16 months of paid internships at golf courses and companies across the world. Past internship locations include Pebble Beach, Bandon Dunes, The Reserve at Moonlight Basin, PGA Headquarters, Golf Channel, TPC Sawgrass, TaylorMade and several top international golf facilities. Many internships also include housing, meals, uniforms and more.

Idaho LAUNCH
This degree is approved for Idaho LAUNCH, a grant that supports Idaho students pursuing high-demand careers. Students enrolling under the 2026–27 Academic Catalog may be eligible for up to $4,000 per year / $8,000 total in scholarship funding through the Idaho LAUNCH program.

Clubs and involvement opportunities
As a student in the PGA Golf Management program at U of I, you’ll have the chance to intern at top golf facilities worldwide, including Pebble Beach, PGA Headquarters, TPC Sawgrass and more.
On campus, you’ll play on our beautiful 18-hole golf course and hone your skills in our newly renovated hitting room.
Engage in tournaments, clubs and numerous opportunities to enhance both your golf game and professional network.
Other hands-on learning opportunities include:
- Barker Trading Program: Focused on managing both money and risk, the Barker Trading Program allows you to trade real capital in live financial markets.
- Davis Investment Group: Centered around managing investments, you will track markets, provide weekly reports and give formal presentations on your portfolios to Davis Investment Group peers.
- D.A. Davidson Group: Competing against 21 other teams in the West, your group will invest a $50,000 portfolio for one year.

Undergraduate applications open each September and admissions are processed on a rolling basis. Qualified students are admitted and considered for scholarships and financial aid as applications are received.
