Application information
Applicants for the master’s in engineering management must currently be employed full-time as an engineer or have at least two years of engineering work experience beyond bachelor's degree. Applicants also must have a Bachelor's of Science in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
The Engineering Management program is offered principally as a distance degree program. Courses are delivered via Engineering Outreach, and not collectively “live” at any one U of I campus. As such, immigration regulations highly constrain students who require an F-1 or J-1 visa from being admitted to the program. Students enrolled in Engineering Management on the U of I Moscow campus could potentially fulfill the “live class” requirements associated with their F-1/J-1 visa, depending on the technical discipline; however, students seeking to reside at another U of I campus (e.g., Boise, Idaho Falls) will be unable to satisfy these visa requirements. Other visa categories may be eligible to study in the U.S.
Contact the International Programs Office for rules governing enrollment while in the U.S. prior to application submission.
Other admission requirements include:
- Education level: Bachelor's degree
- Undergraduate GPA: 3.0 (applicants with a lower GPA may be considered under specific circumstances)
- GRE: No
- TOEFL/IELTS (for international applicants): 79/6.5
- Number of references: 1
