Erick West - Living Learning Communities Resident Director
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. California is where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Pan African Studies minoring in Biology and Geography from California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA). After I received my bachelor’s degree, I pursued and received my master’s degree in Educational Research and Evaluation from CSULA.
During my time at CSULA, I was heavily involved in campus life. I ran track for 5 years, was a member of the Residence Hall Association, became an RA, worked in the Cross-Cultural Centers, worked for the Men of Color Success Network, and worked as a Teacher Prep data team member. Then, I moved to Washington, D.C., for Howard University, an HBCU, where I could work and take classes. These experiences overlapped at times, but I would not alter my trajectory for anything in the world.
Music is my bread and butter. In my head, I am this cool guy with an acoustic guitar in my hands playing somewhere in a park.
