Apartment Services & Utilities

Apartment Community Assistants are your neighbors, and they help answer questions and concerns of apartment residents, as well as coordinate community programs such as the Spring Carnival, community BBQs, children activities and more. If you would like to see a particular program, have a specific concern at the apartments or are interested in becoming an ACA, talk to your ACA directly. ACAs have designated signs on their apartments; otherwise you can contact them in emergencies through our  Information Desk at 208-885-7379.

We have a dedicated maintenance staff to support you with any issues you may have with your living space and to insure your needs are being met quickly and consistently. Maintenance concerns could include clogged sinks, garbage disposal issues, etc.  Our staff is committed to addressing non-emergency maintenance issues within 72 hours. You may submit a service request at any time.

The grounds are maintained by the university, freeing you from any yard work needs. Please help our groundskeepers by keeping walkways clear and help our community by avoiding hazardous or unsightly items on your front or back porches. If you have any landscape maintenance concerns, you may contact Facilities at 208-885-6246.

Please remember that all pets must be registered with University Housing in order to live in the apartment. Residents are allowed up to two registered cats and approved service animals. Residents with pets must also pay a $300 deposit for any potential pet-related damages or cleaning that may be necessary.

Our apartments are equipped with safe playgrounds and a large greenspace. For the safety of your children, please remember to supervise them at all times while they are enjoying the community, especially on the play equipment. Additionally, if you are looking for child care services near the apartments, the university offers phenomenal services through the Children’s Center that can care for and help your children grow.

The serpentine roadway that winds through the apartments was designed for emergency vehicle usage to provide safe and quick access to the apartments. You're welcome to park along the serpentine for up to 30 minutes while loading or unloading your car. To keep the serpentine clear in emergencies, please do not park overnight.

Additional Resources

You can request service for anything facility-related that needs repair in your apartment by logging on with your university credentials and completing a service request form with your location and what you are needing repaired.

We encourage our residents to be responsible for participating in their own sustainability efforts by sorting their recycling items accordingly and taking them to the Moscow Recycling Center drop-off area. It is open 24 hours a day/7 days a week for your convenience, and located at 401 North Jackson Street (south of Rosauers).

Fish are allowed, tank limited to 10 gallons. Up to 2 cats are also allowed in your apartment, with the proper paperwork and deposit. The resident must register the pet(s) with the Housing & Residence Life office, pay a $300 pet deposit, provide a copy of current vet records showing shots and proof of spay or neuter, and a photo of the pet. All cats must be suited to living in an apartment; nervous or aggressive pets are not considered suitable.

No other animals are allowed, with the exception of approved service and assistance animals (and as otherwise required by law).

A service or assistance animal is a domestic animal necessary to afford a person with a qualifying disability equal opportunity to function in the Apartment community. A student seeking permission to have a service or assistance animal in the apartment community should contact U of I's Center for Disability Access & Resources (CDAR) office at 208-885-6307 or cdar@uidaho.edu regarding questions about the process and documentation.

The University of Idaho campus went tobacco-free July 1, 2016. Tobacco products can be used off campus or in personal vehicles. Violation of this university policy has the potential to send you through the UNIVERSITY conduct process, so be mindful. Thank you for doing your part in keeping clean air for all.

Here is a link to some Tobacco Cessation resources available.

Any resident who is locked out of their apartment may go to the Information Desk and check out a spare key during the desk's business hours. If locked out after business hours, please call your Apartment Community Assistant on-call for assistance at 208-669-0065.

The "Serpentine" is the sidewalk/roadway with a brick border that goes through the middle of the South Hill Vista apartment area. It is for active loading and unloading only (30 minutes max), for buildings 301 Sweet, 315 Sweet, 319 Sweet, 354 Taylor, and 374 Taylor. If misuse by a resident can be documented by Parking & Transportation Services or Housing & Residence Life, penalties may occur.

Please do not park on the grass, and remember that pedestrians have the right of way here at all times.

Use of gas, electric or briquette barbecues is acceptable at a reasonable distance from South Hill and South Hill Vista buildings. Ash and briquettes must be disposed of properly in dumpster and only when fully extinguished. Dumping on grass or walkways is strictly prohibited. Any grill is strictly prohibited in Elmwood Apartments.

Reminder that when kids are playing outside, they must have adult supervision. If there is ever a situation where you feel the safety of you and/or your child is at risk, do not hesitate to call the ACA On-Call at 208-669-0065 (after business hours), Information Desk at 208-885-7379 (during business hours), or 911 for Moscow Police.

Dispose of all trash IN dumpsters, don't just leave it in the general dumpster area. If your trash is found outside of a dumpster you may be billed for it. Please remember to break down cardboard boxes as well to make removal easier and free up more space for your neighbors.

Please keep metal handrails inside apartment at all times. DO NOT PUT OUTSIDE as they rust quickly.

To reserve the Apartment Community Center, please use the Meeting Space Reservation Form.

Please do not prune or harm apartment grounds. License agreement holders are held accountable for children's damage as well, so please remind children not to climb trees or break branches off. If you see anything that is overgrown or broken that needs to be pruned or trimmed in your area, contact campus Landscaping at landscape@uidaho.edu. Please remember that planting in your garden spaces is allowed in CONTAINERS ONLY.

If you are graduating or moving-out, please remember that you MUST file an Intent to Vacate form with the Housing office with at least 60 days’ notice to avoid any penalties. Failure to do this will result in a $100 charge, as stated in the Apartment license agreement. If you have further questions, please feel free to email us at apartments@uidaho.edu or stop by the Housing office.
