A. General. Benefits are extended to Benefit Eligible UI employees. “Benefits Eligible” employees are those employees hired for at least 50% time in an approved, temporary or permanently funded position that receives university subsidized benefits. This does not include temporary short-term positions, temporary help/hourly positions (T1, T4-Non Student) and student employees (WS-Work Study, GA-Graduate Assistants). A-1. Benefit Plan Descriptions. Benefits are governed by plan documents and subject to annual changes. Descriptions of plans and their rates are subject change. Plan documents are available on the Benefit Service Website and all changes are published annually prior to annual enrollment. A benefits orientation is routinely offered and available to all new and existing employees.
Note: See FSH 3730 C-4 for retirees who remain under the active plan until the last day of employment.
