New apartment housing is under construction at South Hill on the University of Idaho campus in Moscow, and is scheduled to open in August 2026. South Hill will offer modern, sustainable housing for graduate students, married couples and families at the University of Idaho. The development includes 451 total beds — 232 for graduate students and 219 for married and parenting students — to meet a range of housing needs. A commons community center will provide shared spaces for studying, collaboration and social engagement.

University of Idaho experts available as statewide drought emergency declared

Specialists offer insight on water supply, agriculture, wildfire risk and long-term climate impacts across Idaho

MOSCOW, Idaho — Following a statewide drought emergency declaration issued April 13, University of Idaho experts are available to help explain what the conditions mean for water supply, agriculture, wildfire risk and communities across the state. The order cites record-low snowpack, unusually warm winter and early spring temperatures and widespread drought conditions across nearly all Idaho basins, with many areas already facing reduced streamflow and potential irrigation shortages this season.
