MOSCOW, Idaho — The Auditorium Chamber Music Series (ACMS) presents the Grammy award-winning Parker Quartet in concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at the University of Idaho Administration Building Auditorium in Moscow.

In addition to the traditional evening concert, the Parker Quartet joins ACMS in a series of exciting events this week. Community members may see the Parker Quartet for free at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at the Moscow Public Library, 110 S. Jefferson St., or bring their toddlers to the Rug Concert at 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at the 1912 Center Lecompte Auditorium, 412 E. Third St. Private engagements include masterclasses with Lionel Hampton School of Music students and assistance at the Palouse Chamber Music Workshop.

The Parker Quartet has distinguished itself as one of the preeminent ensembles of its generation, dedicated purely to the sound and depth of their music. Inspired performances and exceptional musicianship are hallmarks of the quartet, having appeared at many of the world’s most illustrious venues since its founding in 2002.

The quartet’s 20th anniversary was marked in the 2022-23 season with The Beethoven Project, a multi-faceted initiative, which included performances of the complete cycle of Ludwig van Beethoven’s string quartets; the commissioning of six composers to write encores inspired by Beethoven’s quartets; the creation of a new video library spotlighting each Beethoven quartet; and bringing Beethoven’s music to non-traditional venues around the quartet’s home base of Boston, including homeless shelters and youth programs.

Tickets, which are $25 for the general public, $20 for seniors, $10 for U of I students and free for children 12 and under, can be purchased at uitickets.com, as well as at the Bruce M. Pitman Center box office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and at the door an hour before the concert begins (card only).

Since 1986, the Auditorium Chamber Music Series has presented some of the world's finest small ensembles in the beautiful neo-Gothic auditorium in the heart of U of I’s campus. Four ensembles visit the Palouse each year, performing for the series and enriching the region through school residencies, informal performances in community venues and masterclasses.
