In 1988, Idaho Extension began surveying Idahoans periodically to document their knowledge about water issues in order to track drinking-water trends, particularly those involving the public’s improvement of their satisfaction of the state’s drinking-water quality. Learn the results in this fourteen-page report, including bottled-water usage (everyday use and during travel); use of in-home filters; frequency of water testing; knowledge of water contaminants in general; and more. The trends revealed by the eight surveys taken between 1988 and 2023 provide valuable information for educators, political scientists, public policymakers, and water scientists.
