For a variety of reasons, the health of Idaho’s agricultural landscape is struggling. Intensive monocropping has degraded soil health, increasing water resource pressures. Diversified agricultural management systems provide an attractive solution. However, many Idaho farmers lack awareness of their practical benefits and the region-specific opportunities they offer. The Integrated Crop-Livestock Systems (ICLS) video series addresses these gaps. Each video provides five-to-ten-minute presentations of advice and insight from educators and successful practitioners to help farmers transition toward adopting more sustainable agricultural systems. The first in the series introduces growers to the subject, providing a foundation for further learning.
