Small increases in phosphorous, a plant nutrient, can start big changes in aquatic nuisance plant life. This University of Idaho Extension video explains how phosphorous removal by wastewater treatment plants help solve nutrient loading problems like cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) blooms and low oxygen levels in our waterways.
