Dyer’s woad is a rangeland and agricultural weed in the northwestern United States that spreads by seed and that can reduce grazing capacity by more than 35%. Most grazing animals avoid it, which further increases its ability to displace desirable species. Part of an integrated pest management (IPM) series, this colorfully illustrated bulletin helps homeowners and producers to identify the plant and to learn the IPM options available for its control. Ecological information and treatment recommendations further supplement the basic information shared about the pest’s description, biology (life cycle), and management strategies.
