Train to teach, teach to inspire

With a Master of Arts in teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL), you’ll gain the theory, skills and hands-on experience you need to teach English as a second or foreign language. In this program, you’ll explore the latest research in linguistics, language acquisition and teaching methodologies, while applying those insights directly to classroom practice.

You’ll learn how to design effective lessons and materials, create assessments and deliver instruction to culturally and linguistically diverse learners from kindergarten through adult education. Through coursework and practicum experiences, you’ll build confidence to lead classrooms and support students in a variety of English language learning environments.

Program highlights:

  • A curriculum aligned with TESOL International’s recommendations, the world’s largest professional organization for ESL educators.
  • English teaching internships to build real classroom experience.
  • The chance to develop a customized non-thesis master’s project based on your TESOL interests.
  • Courses designed and taught by faculty members using the latest research and best practices.
  • Access to web-based instruction serving students worldwide.
