Growing demand for food and fiber crops requires the need to maximize long-term sustainability of our agricultural systems and reimagine how we grow, market and transport food. This program is designed to provide a science-based understanding of the food delivery cycle, from sustainable production, food chemistry and safety to policy and human nutrition. You will explore ways to produce food while conserving natural resources such as soil and water.

Curriculum
The B.S.Ag.L.S. in sustainable food systems is a 120-credit program combining coursework and applied learning experiences. Students build technical expertise while gaining hands-on experience in the field.

This degree is approved for Idaho LAUNCH, a grant that supports Idaho students pursuing high-demand careers. Students enrolling under the 2026–27 Academic Catalog may be eligible for up to $4,000 per year / $8,000 total in scholarship funding through the Idaho LAUNCH program.
