New apartment housing is under construction at South Hill on the University of Idaho campus in Moscow, and is scheduled to open in August 2026. South Hill will offer modern, sustainable housing for graduate students, married couples and families at the University of Idaho. The development includes 451 total beds — 232 for graduate students and 219 for married and parenting students — to meet a range of housing needs. A commons community center will provide shared spaces for studying, collaboration and social engagement.

Research skills that power discovery

The undergraduate research certificate gives you the skills and experience to design, conduct and communicate meaningful research — no matter your major. Open to students across the university, this flexible program helps you build a strong foundation in research methods while applying those skills within your chosen discipline.

You’ll complete a combination of core research courses and applied research experiences, gaining hands-on practice with literature review, project design, data collection and analysis, and ethical research conduct. U of I’s certificate programs are not eligible for financial aid or scholarships on their own. However, students enrolled in a bachelor's or associate degree program may apply their financial aid and scholarships toward a certificate if they are pursuing both simultaneously.
