Create a sustainable future

In this national program offered in coordination with the National Professional Science Masters Association (NPSMA), students gain advanced science and technology training in a flexible, customizable setting. Our online P.S.M. aligns with the competency elements of an ideal Master of Science, as recommended by the Council of Graduate Schools and the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine. Best for working professionals, you can complete your degree in as little as two years.

True to its interdisciplinary nature, this program requires credits from three areas:

  • 12 credits of professional skills courses
  • 15 credits in scientific coursework in your chosen emphasis area
  • 3 credits of electives or practicum/capstone experience

Professional skills courses are science-based courses covering communication, leadership, data science and management. Students pursuing the sustainable soil and land systems emphasis will study pollution prevention, wetland restoration, restoration ecology, environmental toxicology, energy efficiency and more.
