Culturally responsive pedagogy and universal design for learning
Certificate, undergraduate
Thoughtfully teach
If you’re passionate about creating more inclusive and equitable learning environments, our 12-credit certificate in culturally responsive pedagogy and universal design is designed for you. Through six online one-credit courses and six additional credits from selected offerings, you’ll explore the barriers underserved communities face in education and learn how to implement practical, impactful solutions.
You’ll develop the skills to design pedagogy that meets the needs of all students, especially those from historically marginalized backgrounds. You will also strengthen your ability to communicate effectively about diversity and engage meaningfully with diverse communities across various formats. Throughout the program, you’ll examine your own positionality within broader social and historical contexts, using that awareness to guide your work as an educator.
By understanding the roots of educational inequality, you’ll be empowered to design courses that support and uplift every student. This certificate was made possible by a grant from the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences and the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences.
