Remembering fellow Vandals
Remembering students we’ve lost and honoring the lasting impact they have on the Vandal Family.
Carrying forward the memories of those we’ve lost is part of being a family — a Vandal Family. The Vandal Healing Garden and Memorial offers a place to reflect, remember and find connection while honoring the lives of students who passed away while attending University of Idaho.
Through this space and the funds established in their memory, their legacies continue to be part of our community and the lives of future Vandals.

Vandal Healing Garden
The Vandal Healing Garden and Memorial provides a peaceful space for reflection and remembrance. It honors all Vandal students who passed away while enrolled at the university. Designed through a student-led, community-supported process, the garden brings together thoughtful landscape design and spaces for quiet solitude and shared remembrance. Visitors can walk the garden's winding paths, pause among the plantings or spend time in the memorial area. Located on MacLean Field between the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences and the Physical Education Building, the space welcomes members of the Vandal Family and community who want to reflect, remember or simply find quiet on campus.
Turning remembrance into opportunity
Memorials are one way to honor the impact of a lost life. Scholarships, charitable foundations and other memorial funds can extend that remembrance by supporting causes and opportunities that reflect the values, interests and legacies of those we have lost.
