Gretchen Caserotti

Gretchen Caserotti

Gretchen Caserotti is the director of Meridian Library District, an award-winning public library in the fast-growing city of Meridian, Idaho. She holds an undergraduate degree in theater from Hunter College (CUNY). Her passion for human-centered design and usability principles was developed while she completed the Master's in Library Science degree program at Pratt Institute in New York City. Gretchen began her career as a children’s librarian at the New York Public Library and developed a national reputation for innovation while at the Darien Library in Connecticut.

 

Gretchen was named a Mover & Shaker by Library Journal magazine, was awarded the 2018 Fellowship for the Center of the Future of Libraries (American Library Association) and was recognized as the 2018 Woman of the Year by the Meridian Chamber of Commerce. Building community is at the heart of her work and she serves on many local boards and service clubs in addition to volunteering.
