Abby Lee

Senator Abby Lee currently serves as Idaho Senate Assistant Majority Leader. She was elected in 2014 as the Idaho Senator for District 9, which includes Adams, Payette and Washington counties and part of Canyon County. She serves as co-chair of the Legislative Child Protection Oversight Committee, a member of the Western States Legislative Forestry Taskforce, and on the Idaho Preferred Products Board for the Idaho State Department of Agriculture.

 

She is completing a doctorate in public policy and administration at Boise State University, where she also earned a master’s in instructional and performance technology. She holds a bachelor’s in communications with an emphasis in public relations from Brigham Young University.

 

Professionally, Abby Lee works as associate vice president of college and public relations at Treasure Valley Community College. With more than 20 years of experience in college administration, she has become an advocate for higher education. She is especially dedicated to developing more professional and technical training opportunities between the college and local high schools. And, she is a vocal proponent of the need to invest in education to truly change and improve individual lives and Idaho communities. She has worked to improve transparency in Idaho’s oil and gas policies. Senator Lee was named Idaho’s Mother of Achievement in 2018 due to her work in passing comprehensive foster care reform in Idaho and her advocacy for the most vulnerable citizens in the state.

 

She lives in Fruitland and is the mother of two daughters.
